The
law firm of Falk, Sjöberg & Partners AB was
established in 1987 and presently consists of six lawyers. Most of our clients
are private individuals and small to medium-sized companies. Our law firm
also represents municipalities and authorities in connection with disputes
and litigation.
Our lawyers have wide-ranging expertise in matters of civil law as well
as litigation and criminal law. Some are also specialists in areas such
as taxation and administrative law as a result of their previous professional
experience.
All lawyers associated with our firm have profiled themselves as defence
lawyers in criminal cases and have consequently appeared as defenders in
a number of well-publicised trials.
In addition to assignments as public defenders, our law firm will occasionally
take on private defence assignments. |

Our law firm is
active in all legal areas where private individuals are usually represented.
This includes probate and family law, property law, litigation e.g. relating
to personal damages in the context of insurance claims, labour law, taxation
law, freedom of the press (defamation on TV and in publications) and criminal
law, i.e. trials relating to criminal offences.
Defence assignments include both criminal cases involving suspected theft,
assault or fraud, as well as so-called financial crimes involving suspected
tax evasion or contravention of insider legislation.
Lawyers with our law firm also appear as defenders in matters of suspected
wrongdoing in the area known as special criminal law, e.g. suspected violation
of environmental, narcotics, and highway traffic legislation. |

Proceedings
take place at a regular court (magistrate's court, court of appeal, or the
Supreme Court) or an administrative court (county administrative court,
administrative court of appeal, or the Supreme Administrative Court) or
at a board of arbitration. Our law firm assists companies in matters such
as contract writing, tax investigations, licencing issues and litigation.
Our law firm has a broad network of independent experts in e.g. taxation
law, property law and medicine who can be called upon in matters that require
special investigation, such as establishment abroad, appraisal of damages,
and medical opinions.
All lawyers associated with our firm appear as legal aid assistants under
the Legal Aid Act, as public assistants under administrative legislation,
and as public defenders and assistants to the prosecution in criminal cases.
All are also approved by the insurance companies to act as legal representatives
under legal rights regulations. |

Our
law firm's organisation and competence fully meets today's demands on a
consulting company in terms of expertise and efficiency. Our head office
is a centrally situated building on Drottninggatan in Stockholm, with two
reception offices; one on Nedre Slottsgatan in Uppsala and the other on Röntgenvägen 3 in Huddinge .
Besides Swedish, we speak both English and German.
Where circumstances so require, our law firm will engage interpreters on
short notice to assist in the execution of a matter. |

For many people,
consulting a lawyer is something out of the ordinary. Quite often it can
be difficult for a layman to decide whether a matter is of a legal nature,
or whether it falls outside a lawyer's regular area of involvement.
Since lawyers are in a good position to determine such issues, visiting

with our firm are members of the Swedish Bar Association. Public defenders
are assigned by the court on application e.g. by the suspect, and this function
can in principle only be carried out by a lawyer.
Public defenders can be assigned during an ongoing pre-trial investigation,
e.g. in conjunction with police questioning. |
